It's Over
The semester has finished. I am now (hopefully) done with classes for good, and only need to do my project. After 8 semesters of this crap, its about dang time. This last one was one of the toughest as far as time it took me, so I'm relieved to be done. It helped knowing the end is somewhere in site, but it's still hard sometimes. I keep thinking that something will happen that will prevent me from graduating when I want to. It hasn't happened yet, but there are still a few things that need to be approved, so in the new few weeks when I apply for graduation, we'll see.

Winner
On what will most likely prove to be my only trip out this weekend since I will be studying for finals, we went to a "Chamber Event" for Jami's work last night. They had a raffle, which we naturally entered (that's part of the fun of going, other than the open bar). Some people won a DVD Player, or a TV, or A truckload of alcohol. We won a deep freezer (note the disappointed look on my face as I say that). Not that I'm not happy, as it more than paid for what we spent in raffle tickets. Let's just say it wasn't the top thing on my list of things for us to win.
So we are now the proud owner of a deep freezer. Yay.

Severed Arm
Is it just me, or is this picture slightly disturbing?

Read the story behind the arm here.

Prison Vs. Work
I saw this today and thought I had to share...
Prison vs. WorkIN PRISON: You spend the majority of your time in a 10X10 cell.
AT WORK: You spend the majority of your time in an 8X8 cubicle.IN PRISON: You get three meals a day.
AT WORK: You get a break for one meal and you have to pay for it.IN PRISON: You get time off for good behavior.
AT WORK: You get more work for good behavior.IN PRISON: The guard locks and unlocks all the doors for you.
AT WORK: You must often carry a security card and open all the doors for yourself.IN PRISON: You can watch TV and play games.
AT WORK: You could get fired for watching TV and playing games.IN PRISON: You get your own toilet.
AT WORK: You have to share the toilet with some people who pee on the seat.IN PRISON: They allow your family and friends to visit.
AT WORK: You aren’t even supposed to speak to your family.IN PRISON: All expenses are paid by the taxpayers with no work required.
AT WORK: you get to pay all your expenses to go to work, and they deduct taxes from your salary to pay for prisoners.IN PRISON: You spend most of your life inside bars wanting to get out.
AT WORK: You spend most of your time wanting to get out and go inside bars.IN PRISON: You must deal with sadistic wardens.
AT WORK: They are called managers.
From this site (who probably ripped it off somewhere else).
Also, if you haven't seen the banned Frank Thomas commercial, you should check this out (30 second clip).

Hospitals
Spending the better part of the last 3 days in the hospital with my wife, I've figured out a few things. Below is my top ten list of hospital observations.
1. Nobody will ever tell you the same thing twice. Also, no two people will tell you the same thing.
2. Some Doctor's think their time is so valuable that they can waste hours of yours.
3. Nurses are never in a hurry.
5. The later it gets, the longer it takes them to respond to your button press for assistance.
6. It's only important when somebody is leaving (or trying to leave) if it is not you.
7. Hospital's are boring.
8. Home never looks better than when coming from a hospital.
9. Hospital stays always last longer than they tell you and longer than you want them to.
10. Friends don't let friends stay in the hospital alone (unless they are sleeping).
Now remember, this is from this one hospital experience, so obviously it doesn't apply everywhere. It is 100% accurate however for this particular one (which I will not name).

April Fool's Day
I had wanted to come up with something good to do for April Fool's this year, but couldn't think of anything in the short amount of time I had to do it.
I'm sorry nobody has heard much from me lately, including this webpage. Things have been crazy busy with school and all, I literally eat, sleep, work and do school stuff now. Only 3 more weeks of the semester left, and then things should be a little better this summer. At least I only have one class, but it will be a doozy. Should be interesting doing fuzzy logic robot navigation though, we'll see.
