Senseless killing

Its hard to help but wonder what the heck is wrong with people? A news article in the Detroit Free Press has another story about a young boy being murdered in the streets...

For the second time in the last week, a young boy's life was cut short when he was fatally shot on a Detroit street Tuesday -- apparently another unintended victim of an adult feud...

"It's broad daylight!" she screamed. "They got more guns than the police."

I realize things like this happen everyday across the world (which is very sad), but what kind of people could do that? I am thankful that I went to college and have a decent job so that I don't have to live in neighborhoods where this sort of thing happens. It makes me feel bad however for those who haven't had the opportunities that I have and can't get out of those places. What can be done though?
