Orton Starting?

Can you believe this? Former Purdue QB Kyle Orton was named the Chicago Bear's starting QB for the first game of the season? I know at least one person that isn't too thrilled about this. Of course with Chicago's QB history over the last few years, he won't be around too long. I guess I should be cheering him on since he's a former Purdue player, but I still have a hard time with it. I'll keep rooting for Brees instead.

One more week

Well things seem to just keep getting better. One week from today, the long distance stuff is done. I will no longer be alone in Michigan, for the first time since moving up here over 2 years ago. Granted, I'll still be living alone (not to say that Mico isn't company), but I won't always be alone anymore. Its been a long time since I've had a close-distance relationship....I'm looking forward to it ;-)

Bad Idea

Well it just goes to show, sometimes you have to be patient. The Broncos have announced they are releasing Clarett. Not this comes as much of a shocker. The former Ohio State star tried to go pro after his freshman year of college, so he was not able to return, and then was forced to wait to the required age for the NFL. Now he's too out of shape and has had injury problems. If he'd only stayed in school, who knows what could have happened...

Wedding Weekend

Eyebrows

You know its a sad day when somebody makes it into the Guiness Book of World Records for having "The Longest Eyebrow". They created a special category just for him. How special.

Google Talk

Well the rumors are finally true. Google released an Instant Messenger client early this morning called "Google Talk". This client interact with others on the "Jabber" network and is a low-impact install. It looks like you must have a GMail account to use the program however, but that is easy to get. It is not compatible with MSN, Yahoo or AIM yet (I don't think), but rumor has it they are in talks about it.

Not only is it an IM client however, it is also a VOIP client so you can talk to your friends using a microphone over the internet.

(I haven't actually installed this program yet, just read a little bit about it. I plan on testing it out when I get home tonight.)

Great News

There's nothing like good news to brighten your day. Actually, in this case its great news. I'm not going to say exactly what it is for the whole wide world to read, but if you know me, then you can probably guess. If you can't guess, then ask me ;-)

For a clue, lets just say its good enough to make the next couple months much better than they were looking.

Another one bites the dust

Another great weekend has come and gone. Seems like the weeks are flying by (which is a good thing for now anyway). This coming weekend the first of my guys friends is getting married. Pretty crazy to think about, makes me feel like an old man. It feels like we're too young to be getting married...when you find the right person, I guess you're never too young though (not that 24 is too young anyway).

Relaxed?

Its taken 3 weeks. Thats how long I've been out of school now. Half of my "vacation" is over. Its funny though, because until this week it still didn't seem like I have much time at night. Now I get home from work & working out, eat dinner and do a few things like I normally do, and then end up sitting around trying to figure out what to do the rest of the night. I must admit, its rather nice watching TV and relaxing during the week. I feel a lot more rested and am not so grumpy anymore either. Too bad it all starts again in a couple weeks, but it will be better this time around. Its always better when classes are related to what you do, so you actually want to learn.

Sirius Sucks

How stupid can people be? First, Sirius doesn't actually suck, just the people that work there are complete idiots. I've had to call them at least 6 times in the last 3 weeks because they've now over-charged me twice (for a total of $175), and disabled the wrong radio. And thats just the beginning, don't get me started. Not only do they overcharge, but then it took 2 phone calls just to get the money credited back because the first person entered it into the system, but "forgot" to put it through. What a crock. I thought Sirius was a good idea since I had a discount from work. Next time I'm going XM.

Last free weekend

Well its over. This past weekend was my last "free" weekend before school starts. By free, I mean where I'm not going anywhere and didn't have anything I had to do. Of course, I still have 3 weekends where I don't have to worry about school, I will just be travelling so I can't just sit around. Thats ok though, because I'd much rather be with people than sitting around by myself, I do that all week.

Just when things seem to be going well...

Just when things seem to be going well, they get even BETTER! It turns out someone may me moving up here sooner than we thought it would be, which would be fantastic. A job opened up just west of where I live, so its in a nice area too. Its funny how sometimes things just fall into place. On top of all that, I have this weekend to do whatever I want. I don't have a tournament or anything today like last week, so I just have all day to relax and do a few things around home. Thats Niiiiiice.

My little buddy Mico

It was one year ago today that I adopted this little furball and brought him home for good. At that time I got him because I thought that I would be alone for the rest of my life, so I might as well come home to something. Now, 10 lbs. later for Mico, and one year for both of us, I know that I won't be alone. Who would have thought? Its pretty funny to think how much things can change in a year.....for better or for worse. In my case, its definitely been for the better.

Traffic Lights

Ever want to make it so you don't have to sit at red lights anymore? Today is your lucky day then. With less than $20 of parts, and a little electrical knowledge, you can build an MIRT (Mobile infrared transmitter) such as those used by emergency vehicles to turn red lights green.

CAUTION however, as it recently became a misdemeanor to do so.

Rough

After an awesome 4 day weekend, its hard to go back to work today. On one hand, this past weekend was exactly what I needed to relax and be able to come back refreshed. On the other hand, it was really nice to not have to worry about anything for 4 days. In about two months when a certain someone is up here for good, it will make going back to work much easier, because then I won't always be coming home to just Mico. It'll be nice to have something to look forward to other than weekends.

We Found One!

Well its official. We found an apartment today. The deposit is down, and the date it set (tentatively). Just have to wait 2 months until it gets here now. I can't wait...

Softball Saturday

Today I get to play in a softball tournament for most of the day. I hope the weather is as good as what they're saying its going to be........low 80's, sunny, and low humidity. Sounds good to me, I could use a day outside playing around. Definitely a good way to relax.
