Hmmmmm....
Not much going on today. Mico went to the vet again and he's already almost 6 lbs!!! He has worms though, so he's back on some medication for that. Nothing serious, just gotta give him a pill. I think he's gonna be a big boy, he's gained 2 lbs or so in the 19 days I've had him!
So yeah, I talk about my cat too much. Its kind of sad isn't it? You'd think I had a kid or something. Well classes start soon, maybe then I'll have something intereseting to say. Or maybe not cause I'll be pretty busy...

Crazy cat
Well I'm officially a University of Michigan student now. I'm all registered, got my tuition paid for and even bought my books and got my student ID today. One week from Wednesday I start class. Seems a little strange going back, and I"m going to be busy taking 7 hours and working. Thats ok though, nothing better to do.
I think Mico was a little lonely this weekend. He still won't leave me alone. He barely slept last night (and as a result neither did I). But thats ok. I missed my little buddy too. He finally decided he likes his cat-nip toy and now he has hidden it so I can't find it and take it away.

Screwed up
Well I managed to screw things up today. Not only am I not seeing the person I wanted to see, I hurt her even more. Why does it have to be so difficult with women? Why can't things just work out? I know everything happens for a reason, but I wish I could understand the reason sooner sometimes. I guess its just one of those things you just have to have faith in and trust that God knows what He's doing. If you are reading this though, I'm sorry.

Traffic
I haven't talked about traffic in a while, so after the last few days I think its time to bring it up. I don't know what it is, but this week traffic has been horrible. My nice little 30 minute drive has turned into a 45-50 minute nightmare. ANyone who has been up here to visit me can vouch for the traffic here. Its not just that they're doing construction either. People can't drive. Sometimes it will just be that you have 3 or 4 people driving side by side going 10 or 15 under the speed limit. RIght now on I-96 on my way home they have one of the 4 lanes closed for 6 miles, because they have 2 trucks parked on the side of the road at the VERY END of that 6 mile lane closure. Yeah, that makes sense. No work being done and no workers the whole 6 miles. I guess they figure that people up here are such stupid drivers that merging out of that lane if it wasn't closed the whole stretch would cause more of a backup (and the sad part is they're right).
Anyway, thats my frustration with Michigan traffic. After a while you just gotta smile and laugh at it or it'll make you insane. Thats the lesson I've learned.

well that "little slower" part didn't space out quite right. I guess you may need to get a little dumber to move down here too.
Maybe you should move to Evansville. We don't have much traffic down here. You may need to learn to talk a "l i t t l e s l o w e r" and add a southern twang.

Gettin Better
Today was busier at work, finally getting some things to do. Looks like it will stay that way (I hope). The bad thing today was I found out I don't get my own cube (desk and computer too) until after Labor Day. While thats only a week and a half away, it still sucks not having my own space yet. So right now I hog the walk-up pc all day.
I got the voucher to pay for my tuition today, so tomorrow I can finally get that sqaured away for good and get my Michigan student ID. I'll have to get a Michigan sticker on my truck so I don't get keyed for the Purdue Alumni one :-)

Finally
Well Today I finally got everything cleared up with Grad School so I can submit my form to have work pay for my tuition. Talk about having to jump through hoops. I'm barely going to make the deadline now probably. One thing I realized though, is that they have a nicer workout facility than what I use now, and I will be able to use that instead, so that is exciting.
2 weeks until classes start.

A day of Firsts
Well today was a day of firsts. It was my first day at my new position as a Network Engineer. It was all Purdue Students' first day of class, and several friends of mine first day at internships, first day back from vacation, and first day student teaching. I hope everybody's first day went well.

Beautiful Day
Well yesterday and today turned out to be beautiful days. Great for a little site-seeing like I did yesterday with Dani who came up to visit me for the weekend. We went to Bell Isle in Detroit, which is a little island in the middle of the Detroit River. Very neat, good view of downtown from there. Then we drove up to Grosse Point area and just looked at the HUGE houses along the lake shore. Pretty amazing, lots of mansions through there.
Its nice to have company, so if you are reading this then feel free to come visit sometime too :-)
Mico is crazy as ever. His new thing is hiding in his litter box when he's hyper. You'd think he has his own stash of cat nip somewhere because every once in a while he just gets wired and runs all over. Its fun though, nice to have him around since I'm usually alone.
I start my new position tomorrow at work, so my 4 week orientation vacation is officially over. Back to 8 hour days. I just hope this position proves to be interesting and can keep me busy...

Second to Last Day
Well today was my second to last day of NEO (New Employee Orientation). It was the longest day yet, actually a full 8 hours. How depressing is that? Monday I have to go back to working 8 hour days everyday. At least I'll be starting my new position as a Network Engineer though, that should be exciting.
I found out today that I got my residency for University of Michigan, so I'll be able to start school this fall like I hoped. Thats a huge relief. Just gotta submit the form so work will pay for it now.
Its about time to go back to school again. Its strange that I actually am going back this year, but it doesn't feel the same since I"m not actually on a college campus or anything. Good luck to all of you who are going back. Study hard and get a good job :-)

Last boring day
Hopefully today was the last boring day of my orientation. Only 3 days of this vacation, i mean orienation left. Tomorrow we get to do some tours though, so should actually be entertaining.
Had a little scare with mico today. I ran him to the vet, because he sneezed up a little blood and it made me nervous. Vet said he's ok, just picked up a respitory virus after being in the animal shelter and getting declawed/neutered. Just gotta keep giving him his meds for another week and let it run its course. Thats good news to me, I was worried about my little buddy. He weights 5 lbs now, gonna be a big kitty :-)

Anywho, Sara and I went to Six Flags on Monday. You missed out. Superman was pretty awesome. Tuesday we went shopping and to the Cheescake factory, and yesterday we went to the Museum of Science and Industy, the Sears Tower, and Union Station. We did it all on public transportaion too. There were some real characters that we ran into. Today we are getting ready to go back downtown to Navy Pier and then we are gonna meet Barkow after he gets off work tonight for dinner.
I wish it wasn't already Thursday...this week is going too fast.
Hope the little monkey is feeling better.

Short day
Well it was another rough day at orientation. Its 2:00 and i'm home already. Not too bad. My poor little cat is sick, got the sniffles and sneezes. He doesn't like the medication very much, but hopefully it helps. Not much else going on, might make a trip to the pool since its nice out :-)
By the way, I didn't really get a navigator, just drove one around.

Today was a good day. Found out I don't get to make a little trip on Friday, that kinda bummed me out, but I guess it wasn't supposed to happen...which kinda bummed me out too! Maybe I just get bummed out too easily. Really just wish he wasn't so sweet and left little things on IM that make me smile the second I get home, but maybe it's a good thing to have someone that makes me smile. Who knows. Things that make ya go hmmmmmmmmmmm. Have a good day buddy! :)

Good day
Well today was a nice, short day. Rather than working I spent half a day at the dealership, and got to drive my new Lincoln Navigator :-) It was the first time I had to leave Mico alone, but he seemed to manage ok. Just gotta get him used to the new kind of litter since he was just declawed.
Not sure what is going on this weekend. If anyone reading this cares to visit, feel free, you can see my new kitty too :-)

Mico
Well I finally got my cat today. He's a 4.5 month old tiger cat. I named him Mico, its spanish for little monkey. Its kind of strange having something around other than myself, after living alone for 14 months.
Now i just have to make sure he's litter box trained. He seems afraid of it so far...

Historic Tour
Wow, work was rough today. We took a tour of some different historical places in Detroit. Got to go to Edsel and Elanor Ford's house built in 1930. That thing is amazing. 30,000 square feet on 88 acres of lake front property. Very impressive.
Its rough getting paid to tour historic places in Detroit, but somebody's gotta do it. :-)

I FOUND ONE!
Well the cat search is over. I found the one today at the animal shelter. He is getting fixed and declawed tomorrow, and then I get to pick him up on Thursday after work. I'm excited. I think I found the name for sure too, but I'm not releasing that until I get the cat, in case it changed.

Beautiful Day
Wow, what a beautiful day it is. Nice and cool this morning, mostly sunny all day with a gorgeous blue sky. Nice breeze and not too hot this afternoon. Almost perfect.
I was finally able to wash and wax my truck today. Believe me, it needed it.

Cat Problems
Well it looks like it will be a week or so until I get my cat now. The anmial shelter screwed up things. Its ok though, this way I can be sure I get the one thats best for me, and I can get it when I have time to pay a lot of attention to it.
My cat is going to be spoiled, I already got it a play thing and some toys and stuff. I'm excited :-)

I'm a daddy again
Today I found out that I was approved for adoption. That means I'm going to be a daddy again. All I have to do is go pick out the lucky little one :-)
Unfortunately I'm not sure how soon i'll be able to, but it will be sometime in the next two weeks. How exciting!

Random thought of the day....
You know how fun it is going to be when we go to Blake and Mere's wedding. That is going to be off the hook!! This is the first wedding of anyone that I have been really close to besides family. We are gonna have a blast!
I told you it was the RANDOM thought of the day...but it is gonna be so much fun.
