More DAP Facts

In addition to the blog I posted on Monday, May 10, here is a bit of more information on the Mustang plant that recently closed.

"A portion of the plant will be dedicated for historical preservation, with plans to be announced soon. As it ended production, Dearborn Assembly Plant was one of six plants at the Ford Rouge Center. During its final year, the plant employed about 2,000 hourly employees and 175 salaried employees on two shifts. The plant had nearly 3.4 million square feet and 10 miles of assembly line, sitting on 47 acres."

Unbelievable

I can't believe I've lived up here for 11 and a half months already. I"m getting ready to move apartment so I'm closer to work right now, so that means my lease is almost up.

Its amazing how fast time continues to go. One year ago tomorrow I graduated, and I"ve almost been working at Ford for 1 year now as well. Seems hard to believe.

The end of an era

4 months ago I probably wouldn't have cared. You probably still don't care. But today is the last production day ever at Ford's historic Dearborn Assembly Plant. The last ever 2004 mustang will roll off the line around 1 pm today. It will be the last vehicle ever built in a place which has built every mustang for the last 40 years and 16 other models since 1917.

Flat Rock, Michigan will be the new home of the mustang when the 2005 model is released later this summer.

Sirius is awesome

I got my new Sirius satellite radio in the mail today. Just hooked it up in my truck, and haven't used it much yet, but still must say that I am impressed. ANybody who does much driving and likes music should seriously consider satellite radio. Commercial free, you can flip through stations and see what else is playing without actually changing stations, and there's every kind of music and station possible.

I'm traveling down to Fort Wayne this weekend to see the girl, so we'll see how it travels.

Crazy day

Stupid sasser virus caused havoc at work today. Although if we were patched like we should have been since it came out OVER 3 WEEKS AGO then it wouldn't have been an issue.

So sad.

What a day

Working and not getting paid sucks.

Insurance people who don't know what they are talking about from ALLSTATE suck.

Being gone for 15 hours a day sucks.

Michigan sucks.

It was like 75 on Friday, and it was 35 this morning on my way to work. it actually snow flurried this past weekend. What is going on with that?

Weekend over

I can't belive the weekend is over already. I've been confused ever since I woke up yesterday and had to go to work. My days just seem screwed up, today didn't feel like Sunday, yesterday didn't feel like Saturday, Friday felt like a Sunday...

I did get everything done I had planned for the weekend though, so that is a good thing. Just 4 more days now until I get to see George.
