Interesting

While Looking at some computer articles online this morning, I noticed something I found rather funny on this page. It appears that Purdue has an entry in the recommended block range of IP addresses (meaning hack attempts frequently come from these IP's to a wide range of sources).

Just thought that was interesting. Out of all the IP addresses from all the places in the world (roughly 1,069,763,989,500 possible IP's), that Purdue would make the list. You would think those little ResNet cowboy's would be on that like white on rice. Guess not.

Dreary Day

Its another dreary day here in Metro Detroit. Cold, rainy and cloudy. Supposed to be like that all week from what it sounds like. Not exactly my favorite kind of weather, but I guess it makes me appreciate the nice sunny days.

I'm hoping to make some progress on my sites tonight, so there may be some changes if you visit in the next few days. Let me know what you think.

Work In Progress

My sites are slowly coming along, although you wouldn't know by looking at this one. I've spent a fair amount of time in the past week getting my news Blog and my photo Blog where I want them to be. I still have a ways to go before I replace pipesnetwork.com with these new sites, but I'm finally getting closer. I've never done a whole lot of web programming, so this is kind of a new thing for me.

Its not like I ever have anything better to do when I get home from work except do this or clean, (and you can only clean things so many times).

Anyway, happy Monday to my readers (which is probably just you Lindsey). If there's anyone else, post a comment and prove it ;-)

Back up

Well not that anyone would have noticed, but my site was down for about 13 hours starting at 11 pm last night. Apparently I accidentally scheduled a cron job that ran a recursive script which actually took down the server. Oops. It took 3 emails and a 25 minute phone call to get that straightened out.

I'm working on some new blogs, or "clogs" as I like to call mine. I have a news feed one Here and a photo one Here. Just remember they are both works in progress. Actually it was while I was trying to get my news blog to update that I accidentally took down the server (apparently twice actually).

Weekend

The weekend is almost here once again. I'll be heading down to Fort Wayne for a wedding on Saturday after work tomorrow.

I saved $23 with my Kroger card today.

Quiet week

"It's been a quiet week in Lake Wobegone, my home town." For those of you who don't know, thats how Garrison Keilor starts off all of his shows. It has been a quiet week so far here though. Nothing much going on. Its warming up outside, but raining. Work is a little slow, but there's still things to do. Not much happening.

Ho Hum

Nothing exciting to talk about today. Work is a little slower than it has been so far today. No profound thoughts as of yet, but maybe I will come up with one to add later. For now, I try to look busy.

We found a puppy

Lindsey and I found a miniature dachshund this weekend that we will be getting in 6 weeks. His name is George and he is 6 weeks old right now. Here are some pictures of him. Needless to say, we are both pretty excited about it.

We had a nice lazy weekend though. It was nice to just relax a bit and not do a whole lot.

This week is getting of to a good start as well, nice and sunny right now, and actually watched the sun come up behind the Detroit skyline on my way into work this morning.

Almost the weekend...

Well the weekend is almost upon us. Looks like I'll be heading down to Indiana to see the girlfriend. Its about time, been 3 weeks. Needless to say, I'm looking forward to it.

I need a pet

Lindsey and I have been talking about getting a dog for a while now. The more I look at them, the more I want to get one. It would be nice to have something to come home to. The only problem is I'm gone 12 hours a day, and I don't want to neglect a puppy. I miniature dachsund would be so much fun though. I was bored enough tonight to look at pictures of them. What happened to Spring?

I'm not sure who's idea this snow was, but it definitely wasn't mine. We have about 2 inches of snow on the ground already, and its still going strong. Its going to be a long drive home today, but on the bright side, I get to play with 4-wheel drive some more :-)

I think I will end up working or working out late however to avoid the rush hour traffic. People up here don't know how to drive.

Great weekend

What a great weekend. Friends of mine from Indiana came up to my place on Friday night. Its always nice to have company around, but its even better when its your boys you never get to hang out with. Good times though, and looks to be a good week ahead with a visit to see Lindsey at the end. Life is good.

O' Happy Day

Its Friday. A 2 day vacation from work is at the end of this work day. With 4 friends of mine coming in from out of town, it should be an awesome weekend.

Busy as a bee

Its nice to be busy at work for a change. Its not nice to have plans to go out to lunch with friends and have to cancel due to being too busy, and then not have brought lunch because of plans to go out. Now I am starving, and still unable to eat. I'm not complaining at all about being busy (its about time I have stuff to do), but I don't like skipping meals. Back to work.

Spring Is Close

Spring may indeed be close once again. After having snow this past weekend, it looked like another long winter. It was beautiful outside today, sunny and about 50. Now if it would just stay that way.

Finally

Well its been a long time coming, but I finally took the time tonight to setup a blog service on my own site. Now I can do it all from here and other people can comment on my blogs (not that anyone actually reads this anyway). So in other words, if you read this, let me know :-)
