Upgrade
Well I spent some time this morning upgrading this software to version 4.0. I'm not sure if I really like it better or not. I guess partially I'm just not used to it yet.
Thats how I am with Vista now too. I have it installed and running for the first time since it was in Beta. So far, most of my software seems to run on it OK, but I have found a few glitches. I'm still a little nervous about going to it for my everyday OS, because I don't want it to slow down the things I normally do. I guess that's the beauty of VMWare, I can run it inside of XP and test it out little by little.

Unofficially Done
Well I am now unofficially done. I have turned everything in, and know I have a passing grade. I know just have to wait for the audit of what I've done to make sure I've met all the requirements to graduate. I've done everything on the curriculum, but who knows with these places if that's really everything. At least I'm done with everything I know about now. Now it's time to hit my mile long list of things I've been putting off...

A proud moment...
It must be a proud moment for several guys I know who were members of fraternities while at Purdue...
Purdue University has suspended five fraternities. They are accused of violating the school's ban on alcohol during freshman orientation. The Dean of Students says Kappa Delta Rho, Pi Kappa Alpha and Sigma Alpha Epsilon gave alcohol to minors Thursday.
The school suspended Delta Upsilon and Phi Kappa Psi earlier in the week.

Old
Dang, I feel old. I just realized that classes start already at Purdue on Monday. That means it was 8 years ago today that I moved down to Purdue to start my freshman year. That means the people who are about to be freshman were only in 5th grade or so back then. Cripes.

Almost
I don't want to get too excited yet, but it appears I am one week away from officially being done. I don't think I'll be able to completely relax until I see my grade posted and get the degree in my hand, but it's a start.

Visual Studio 2003 and Intellisense
I just wasted 20 minutes trying to solve a stupid problem, so I thought I'd share the solution in case anyone else runs across it.
Apparently, it is possibly to randomly lose "Intellisense" in Visual Studio .NET 2003. (Intellisense is the little tips that pop up to describe parameters, functions, classes, etc.). It is VERY painful to not have it, as then everything has to be looked up manually. One would think that deleting the project ".ncb" file would fix the problem, but it didn't for me (the ncb file stores the intellisense information for your project). All that I did was close every file in the solution, and then open them back up and intellisense was back.
Talk about a stupid solution for a stupid problem. I hope this is fixed in Visual Studio 2005, I haven't used it enough yet to have this problem.

You know you're having a bad day when...
A man said he was bitten by the decapitated head of a rattlesnake on his property near Prosser, Wash.Danny Anderson and his son saw the 5-foot rattler Monday evening while feeding horses.
They pinned it with a pipe and cut off its head with a shovel.
When Anderson reached down to pick it up, he said, the snake head twisted around and bit his index finger.

Paranoid about drinking fountains?
This makes me never want to drink out of a fountain again...
Officials said the pipes for high quality drinking water and low grade toilet flushing water at the gymnasium on the campus had been attached the wrong way around. They said it was believed the pipes had been fitted incorrectly since the gymnasium was completed in April 1993. (Mainichi)

Missing Out Again
Once again this weekend, I am missing out on things I could be doing if I wasn't in school. My wife gets to go to the Bear's training camp, but I can't go because I have to work on my project. I'm sure at some point having this degree (assuming I finish the next 3 weeks) will be worth it, but it sucks having to sacrifice time with family and friends now.
