I knew it.
Ever since the election, gas prices seem to have been rising. Funny how they fell to their lowest point of the year as the election approached.
Here's a bunch of people debating it if you're interested...(I'm not)

A full week?
Well, its back to work today after that nice 5-day weekend. Unfortunately however, I have to work a full week for the first time since the week of October 9th. My first full week of work as a married man. Its rough, I tell ya.
I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. Our first one was good, all the food turned out great (not that I'm surprised, except for my gravy). Nobody got sick from the Turkey or stuffing, which is a plus. And there's enough left-overs that I've had turkey sandwiches for every meal since Thanksgiving, and enough to get me through the week.
Happy Monday.

Healthcare
Why is healthcare through work the same price for the people about to retire as it is for me? I'm in good shape, I'm not obese, and I can count on one hand the number of days I've stayed home sick from work/school since first grade. Yet it is the same price for me, as it is for that 60 year old fat dude who is always sick from work, takes 3,000 pills a day, and eats McDonald's and ho-hos for lunch everyday. Something isn't right about that...

If you want a PS3...
After hearing about people being robbed and shot at while waiting in line to get a PS3, You should consider having one of these if you want to wait in line...
A PS3 bodyguard of course! Big Brotha' Willie will uppercut anyone who steps in front of you in line for a mere $1,000.

Ahh Detroit
Where else do you get headlines like this?
DETROIT - Two men are suspected of shooting five people in the span of 10 minutes Thursday morning, killing two of them and wounding the others before fleeing on foot, police said.

Are you serious?
Times are tough in the domestic automotive industry. GM and Ford have both laid off or bought out thousands of workers, and Ford will be laying off thousands more in the coming months. All the cost cutting measures you hear about, and then this article comes out by Channel 7 News Last night...
Fields has said, "We are making sacrifices at every level."But there certainly doesn’t seem to be much sign of sacrifice at home - his home, in sunny South Florida, on the water in Delray Beach.
The same Ford executive who says he’s not looking for a free ride is getting exactly that virtually every weekend in a Ford corporate jet.
For weeks, we’ve been watching as he usually slips off every Friday afternoon to Ford’s hangar at Detroit Metro Airport and then climbs aboard one of six Ford jets that whisks him to a private airport near his Palm Beach County Florida home.
Fields is usually the only passenger—plus an aircraft crew of three—but on occasion, we’ve spotted his family riding along for free, too. Well, it’s free for the Fields’ but far from free to the floundering Ford Motor Company.
The 1,100 mile, 2-and-a-half hour, one-way trip from Detroit to Boca Raton in a Gulfstream-5? It’s not cheap at $7,000 an hour but then, add in the costs of the crew and their weekend meals and lodging expenses at what is said to be a luxury Palm Beach area hotel, and then of course the costs to fly Fields back to Detroit Sunday night... can it be $70,000 a week or more?—it certainly can when the jet makes two trips to Florida, one to drop him off and another to go back and pick him up?
A Ford insider claims he’s seen paperwork that says it’s $50,000 a week but it’s unclear what’s not included in that number.
Thats basically a person a week who could stay here instead of him flying around in the jet. That's a good way to motivate your employees, they're getting their pay and benefits decreased, and you're gallivanting around in a private jet for non-business purposes.

How to tell if you're an engineer.
There's almost a little too much truth to this thing...
At Christmas, it goes without saying that you will be the one to find the burnt-out bulb in the string of Christmas lights. If you find that you have to often explain how to use the gifts you have given other people.
The Salespeople at Circuit City can't answer any of your questions
You can type 70 words per minute but can't read your own handwriting
You have Dilbert comics/paphanelia displayed anywhere in your work area
You have ever saved the power cord from a broken appliance
You have backed up your hard drive
You have never bought any new underwear or socks for yourself since you got married.
You window shop at Radio Shack
You've already calculated how much you make per second
You've ever tried to repair a $5 radio
Your four basic food groups are: 1. Caffeine 2. Fat 3. Sugar 4.Chocolate
Your wife/husband hasn't the foggiest idea of what you do at work

Just read this page, especially the comments. Slashdot is well known for the witty nerd humor on the site, but this article's comments are especially hilarious (maybe more so for nerds like me).

New iPod Shuffle
So I've been hearing about this new iPod shuffle for a while. I knew it was supposed to be small, hold 1GB worth of music, and only be $80. It came out this past weekend, so I went to Best Buy to check it out, and its frickin' tiny. Its literally about this size of a money clip. I was looking for a replacement for my old mp3 player I use for working out (which only has 128 MB, so I hear the same songs every other day), so I ended up taking one home (thanks to a gift card I had, otherwise even $80 is too much for me right now).
I just got it hooked up and transferred some music to it. I just can't believe how small it is. My old one got in the way sometimes while working out, I don't think I'll have that problem anymore. My only fear now is not being able to find it in my gym bag.

Cold
It was only a few days ago that it was 75 when I woke up in the morning, and almost 90 by the end of the day. Today, it is 22, and maybe 40 by the end, and it has snowed a little. Is winter over yet?
