One Thing you Won't see at my Wedding

BISMARCK, N.D. -- Chicken was a part of the wedding of Terry Morris and Renee Biwer, but it had nothing to do with the menu or the name of a popular dance.

Henrietta the hen was a bridesmaid. She's also the pet of the groom.

Don't worry...it will all get done with plenty of time to spare.
All you need to worry about is getting ready for a fun guys weekend in Detriot in a few weeks.

2 Months...

I can't believe how fast the time is going. Two more months, and the big day is here. Seems hard to believe, especially considering what has to get done between now and then.

This guy must have gone to IU

Apparently not the sharpest tool in the shed...

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. A 21-year-old man suffered severe burns to his face and head when he ignited a mortar-style firework that he taped to an old football helmet and placed on his head. Police say Kaleb Spangler of Bloomington attempted the stunt while drinking at a party along Indiana 46 between Bloomington and Nashville early Saturday morning.

His girlfriend says Spangler decided to duct tape the large firework to the old football helmet. He then put on the helmet and ignited it.

She told police she saw a large flash, then saw Spangler on the ground, unconscious and bleeding from the head. The helmet was destroyed by the blast.

Stupid new NFL rules

This is just irritating. Some of these make sense, but I don't understand the point in at least one of these...

No more than six players can line up on the same side of a formation on a kickoff. Previously, teams could “load up” one side with more players for onside kicks.

Its not like the receiving team has to stand there and get killed. Give me a break, these guys get paid millions of dollars, quit babying them and let them play.

There is 1 new rule that I like though...

Teams can now opt to take the result of the play OR replay the down when there is an inadvertent whistle. Previously, an inadvertent whistle would force the down to be replayed without exception.

All new NFL rules for 2006 are here.

Indy Crime Spree

And I thought Detroit was bad...

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — A man shot outside a nightclub died Friday, becoming the city's 14th homicide victim in a crime spree that has terrorized residents and prompted the mayor to declare an "extreme emergency."

Billy Isaac Jr., 18, was shot Aug. 5, along with a 16-year-old who died shortly after. The fatal shootings were among 14 that occurred over less than a week earlier this month, prompting police to step up patrols in trouble spots and lengthen officers' shifts.

Cool Video

Maybe I'm easily amused, but this video is cool. It is played in reverse, so it looks like these guys are building things rather than knocking them down...

Don't buy D-Link

I've had 2 D-Link Wireless Access Points, a D-Link switch and recently a D-Link wireless PCI card. I researched the card before buying it, and had seen some driver issues, but assumed it was mostly dumb users. Apparently I was wrong. I now get the BSOD daily due to driver compatibility issues. I emailed D-Link tech support with the problem (which they must know about, it is everywhere in internet forums), and this is the response I got:

If you have already installed the latest drivers you may want to try installing the card into another PCI slot. There may be a Iompatibility issue

How stupid are these people? They have the nerve to tell me that, when it is a fact that their drivers are unstable with Windows XP? I felt like calling them up just to yell (and might do so later).

I think that I did find a fix however, but no thanks to D-Link or anyone related to them. We'll see when I get home tonight.

Coming along

OK, so I didn't do a complete re-design on the site this past weekend. I did do some tweaks to the way comments are entered and displayed in the archives. I made a lot of underlying updates that will make future tweaks easier to do. I started working on some other pages which will be added in (soon I Hope) eventually.

So if the site is down or looks really weird, I'm probably doing some work on it.

Web Bookmarks (Favorites)

Need a place to save your favorite websites so you can access them from anywhere, and don't want to use http://del.icio.us or http://google.com/bookmarks? Try out Pipes' Scuttle. Its actually an open source software program I installed a while back and haven't played with too much yet. You can use a JavaScript bookmarklet (once you register) to save any web page you are on with just one click. Now no matter where you are, you can get to your bookmarks as long as you can remember one web site.

You can even tag your photos with keywords so they can be found easier, unlike Windows Favorites where they are organized by folders. Each bookmark can have multiple tags, and a "tag cloud" is displayed showing your tags, where tags with more bookmarks appear larger than others.

Try it out here.

Re-Design

I'm working on a re-design of this site right now. Hopefully by the end of the weekend, I'll have finished it up. Only cosmetic changes for now, just some cleanup things I've been meaning to do. If you have any ideas or opinions on it, let me know. I'm not creative enough to do this...

3 out of 4 women now prefer a plasma tv to a diamond...

I'm guessing that got your attention. There was actually an article in Reuters about a study done that women prefer technology over diamonds.

NEW YORK - Diamonds are no longer a girl's best friend, according to a new U.S. study that found three of four women would prefer a new plasma TV to a diamond necklace.

The survey, commissioned by cable television's Oxygen Network, which is owned and operated by women, found the technology gender gap has virtually closed with the majority of women snapping up new technology and using it easily.

The study found 77 percent of women surveyed would prefer a new plasma television to a diamond solitaire necklace and 56 percent would opt for a new plasma TV over a weekend vacation in Florida.

Even shoes lost out. The study found 86 percent would prefer a new digital video camera to a pair of designer shoes.
