O' Christmas Tree

I got my Christmas tree put up last night. I don't have any ornaments on it yet because I expect it to be knocked over when I get home today from Mico. He kept trying to climb it while I was putting it up, funny at first, then annoying. At one point he was sitting in the tree while I was putting the lights on. What a dork. I tied it to the door so hopefully he'll have some trouble knocking it over, I guess I"ll see when I get home today.

Wireless Internet

You have to love wireless internet. Apparently about 4 of my parents neighbors have it and half of them are unsecured. So since my parents just have slow dial-up, I'm borrowing some bandwidth from their neighbors :-)

Wow...I use wireless too. I wonder who's stealing my bandwidth! Smart idea, though, I guess.

Gone

Well I hope everyone has a fantastic Thanksgiving. I leave bright and early tomorrow morning to go see my parents in St. Louis until Sunday. Poor mico will be all alone, but the apartment people are checking on him for me.

Its just me and my parents for Thanksgiving this year. That will be strange. It will be nice to get to spend more than a weekend with them though so I"m looking forward to it.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

It actually happened

Its amazing. The roadwork on the way to work is actually all gone. For the first time in 6 months I didn't have to sit in a traffic jam at 6;30 in the morning. In fact, I left 10 minutes later than normal today since I'm doing community service and was in no hurry to get to my office before-hand, and I still got here 5 minutes earlier than normal! So just from that construction clearing I gained back 15 minutes of everyday now.

Now if the construction for the way home is cleared up, then I'll be happy as a lark :-)

Construction

Well supposedly when I go to work in the morning, the construction on 96 will now be cleaned up and I won't have to take the detour anymore. We'll see. Even better then that, after Thanksgiving when I come home from work that should be cleared up too. That means between both of those I'll gain about 20 or 30 minute back from every work day. Cross your fingers.

Spring?

You've gotta love fall in the midwest. A week ago it was butt-cold out. Today its about 65 and feels like Spring. Tomorrow it will probably snow a foot.

Apparently here in Michigan the temperatures in the buildings fluctuate with those outside, since its now 95 in here and last week it was about 40.

Holidays

What to say........

Can you believe Thanksgiving is almost here? A week from today already I fly down to St. Louis to see my parents. Too bad my sister won't be around, she'll be with her hubby's family in Atlanta. Its nice to have most of next week off too. Actually I'll be out of the office all week, since I'm doing community service again at the Henry Ford Estate on Monday.

Work is actually getting busy though, so I have a lot of things to get done this week before the holidays. I also have another big project for school. Lucky me :-) It keeps me busy and out of trouble though. I registered for class for next semester yesterday. Yay for school. I even figured out what I want to do for my last rotation today, so its been a productive week so far.

Anyway, enough rambling, I'm boring today. Hope things are going well for everyone so far this week, have a good one.

Mico

It was nice to get home and see Mico missed me being around. He sat and watched a movie with me last night, and even was ready for bed the same time as me. Then this morning he tried to go to work with me and ran out the door. Maybe sometime I'll take him, ha.

About Time

Well it was good to see Purdue win for a change this weekend. It was nice to have a 3-day weekend and get to see a lot of my friends as well. Hopefully everybody made it back to their places safely. I'm going to bed, this weekend wore me out.

Google Rules All

Google is amazing. Most people don't realize how powerful it really is. You can find anything from credit card numbers to someone's phonebook listing just by doing a search. One new thing I just found out about is you can get the results on your cell phone by text messaging google now too! So if you want to find a pizza place and don't have a phone book, just google "pizza " and it will return addresses and phone numbers. Or something really useful if you're shopping, you can check the price of something from Google's Froogle site by entering "price 20gb ipod" for example.

Google is on their way to taking over the world like Microsoft tried to do. Scary.

Def, Definitely 246

I saw an article today that the real "Rain Man"'s brain is being studied by NASA now. (for some entertaining comments on this, check out SlashDot's article on it here)This peaked my interest so I did a little further reading on Kim Peek, (who is the "real" Rain Man) and savants. I just find it interesting how these people can be so inhibited at things (like Kim Peek can't find the silverware drawer or dress himself) but is an expert in 15 subjects from history to zip codes, and can remember and retain 98% of material read in books.

I'm lucky if I can remember the previous sentence.

Now, what was I talking about???

2005 Mustang

Everyone who knows me knows that I'm not a big fan of cars. I love my truck. I'm especially not a fan of little cars with no back seats (like your old Probe Dut, ha).

But I want to get a 2005 Mustang.

If you haven't seen this car yet, just take a look below.
mustang1.gif
mustang2.gif

OK, so these pictures don't do a whole lot of justice to the way it looks, but just check it out here.

I'm not even a big Mustang fan either, but I love the way this car looks, and 300 horses in the GT? 0-60 in 5.1 seconds. Plus it gets better gas mileage than my truck does. The only problem would be insurance. I don't even want to know what it would cost on a car like that. It doesn't matter though, I wouldn't want to drive it in the winter, and I'm not about to buy a second vehicle, so for now I'll just look and drool.

Posted by adyer at 3:12 PM

300 horses???...that's not that fast...the pinkly should do 0-60 in about 5.3, or was that 15.3?

That car is awesome. I haven't seen one up close, that is until you buy one, ha. I guess we have to take turns riding in it and listening to Lil' Troy though, since it only has 2 seats.

Koop

That is so funny that you wrote about this today. On my way home from work, I stopped by the Ford dealer by my apartment to look at these. Though I wouldn't get one, I do admit they are pretty sharp looking. I think you should get one man, then we can go cruisin' and listen to Lil' Troy....we'd be Baller's.

Cold

Well geez, the weather today is as cold as Purdue's offense the last 4 games (insert laugh here). Its back to feeling like November, and its back to the grind at work. No more training, just another shortened week thanks to Veteran's Day on Friday.

Tomorrow is patch day for Microsoft, but supposedly there is only one being released and its not for Windows. That'd be too bad if they actually patched a couple of the known holes in Internet Explorer.

Movie Day

Well today I was finally able to catch up on some movie watching and watch 3 movies (yeah I'm lazy). It was nice to just have a relaxing day.

On another note, I wish sometimes that I had an explanation for why things happen. I know things happen for a reason. I just wish the reason was more clear and visible when I wanted it to be.

Fall in the Midwest

Weather this time of year is depressing. Its cloudy a lot, the days are short so it always seems like its dark out, and today it has been raining all day long. Days like this always make me just want to curl up on the couch with Mico and watch movies. If I can get this program done in the next two days, maybe I can do that this weekend. Now there's some motivation for me to actually do it.

Update Off

Well just to update this from earlier, I think I was just confused. Having Monday and Tuesday off threw off my calendar, and I couldn't figure out what the heck was going on when I woke up. I had training today so I was out of the office, I guess thats what I was thinking of. Fun Fun. Anyway, I'm back "on" and off to bed. ha. Tomorrow is Thursday already :-) If I was only at Purdue for the Cactus...

Off

Do you ever just wake up and feel like something is not right, but you can't figure out what? Thats me so far today. Something just seems off, but I can't put my finger on what it is. It almost feels like something is going to happen today and I just don't know what. Very strange, and not sure I really like it.

Hey everyone go here and check out the video's if you can. There are 2 on there that are really good. These were made by some guys that used to go to PU. You may want to do it on a high speed connection though, each movie is over 60mb.

Get out and Vote

I encourage everyone to get out and vote in this election. I'm sad to say that at 23, this was the first election I have voted in. I figured since I got the day off work to vote, I better do so. Plus the place for me to vote was less than a mile away :-)

I'm not big into politics, and I'm sick of hearing about hte elections, but I guess its still important to exercise your right. Mainly there were a couple bills on the ballot here that could have an affect on me.

Good day to you, and VOTE!

Tests

I hate when professors spend 90% of the time in class covering a topic, and then make it only 33% of the total test. Thats awesome. Thank you Mr. Professor.
