Halloween
Happy Halloween! It doesn't seem possible that its Halloween already and tomorrow is November 1st. This year seems like it has gone by so fast! I didn't get any trick-or-treaters tonight, so looks like I have to eat the candy myself (thats too bad). :-)
Well its nice to have a 4-day weekend, but its too bad I have this dang exam hanging around to study for so I can't fully enjoy it. I guess I would have just been watching movies or something instead of studying, so not like I missed much.
To all of you suckers who have to work tomorrow, I'll be at home getting paid and thinking of you working! ;-)

About dang time
Well the managers finally got off their butt and showed up at my meeting today. As a result, I have plenty to do now for a while :-)
I'll be out of the office for the next 6 work days anyway, so that's nice too.
The curse of the Bambino is finally over, so now I just have to wait for this damn election to be over so I can quit hearing about that crap too.
What's everyone going to be for Halloween? I'm just gonna be myself, not going anywhere. I'll be in studying.
T minus 1 day until my 4 day weekend!

Hyper Cat
Mico is nuts. He's been so hyper the last few nights. Its been pretty entertaining though, except when I'm sleeping ;-)
For some reason I haven't had much to say lately. I'm not sure what's going on. I geuss all I really do is work, workout and go to class during the week. It keeps me busy, but doesn't give me anything worth while to say. So, anyway, nothing else to say.
Gotta try to calm down the kitty...

Unsure
All I have to say is "GIVE ME SOMETHING TO DO AT WORK!". You're wasting my time not giving me anything, and your money by paying me to do nothing.

Rough Sports Weekend
Purdue Football is doing it again. They are killing themselves with fumbles. We could be sitting at 8-0 right now, but instead have 2 losses and are 6-2. We could be contending for a BCS spot and a Big Ten Title, but instead we're barely still in the top 20 rankings. PULL YOUR HEADS OUT OF YOUR BUTTS!
The Colts lost the game I was at on Sunday too I'm sad to say. If their defense could actually stop Jacksonville they would have had a chance.
The Red Sox and Packers won though, so not all was lost. Shoot, the Lions even won.
Comments
Everyone stay calm...the Cowboys lost. The worst thing about that is that the lose came to the Green Bay "Fudge" Packers.
Don't tell me you are a Red Sox fan too Dyer? I know I might be dreaming when I say this but "GO NATIONAL LEAGUE" the Cards are going to do it at home tomorrow. I mean come on...your own parents are from one of the cities hosting the World Series and you are going to turn your back on them....I see how it is. These stinking Cardinals fans have been growing on me down here. The Sox do look pretty dang tough though.
So, in closing.....GO REDS!!!
Even my Chiefs won! :)

Sports, Googlers
So I'm glad the Yankees finally lost and will not be in the World Series. I personally would have liked to see the Astros though, to see Clemens pitch against his former team who hasn't been to a world series since he led them there in 1986.
If its Saturday at 12 pm Eastern time or later and you are reading this, you need to turn on the TV and watch Purdue destroy Michigan. It should be a heck of a game.
On to the googlers now. This just amazes me the more I think about it. I think I mentioned before how the two guys who founded Google some 6 or 7 years ago are now billionaires. Thanks to their IPO a little bit ago, these guys who are in their early thirties are worth about 6 billion a piece, and hundreds of google employees or "googlers" as they are called turned into millionaires over night. I guess thats the disadvantage I have with working for a huge company thats been around forever. I've heard the same thing that former Janitor's of Wal-Mart and Microsoft who took part in the stock options are all millionaires now. Talk about having luck to be part of a young company like those that turn out to be huge enterprises.

Politics
I can't wait for this stupid election to be done and over with. I'm going to vote, but I hate politics. All it is, is a contest to see who can B.S. the best. They sit around and bash each other and make claims that they're going to do this or they won't do that. Cut the crap and just do it.

community service
Well today I did community service all day at the Henry Ford Estate. We did a lot of yard work around the grounds, raking leaves, etc. It was kind of nice to be out of the office, and it definitely helped keep me awake after not getting much sleep last night.
I'm definitely going to need some coffee tomorrow...

Finally
I finally got my laptop back today. They screwed up one more thing though. For the 3rd time they gave me the wrong battery to replace the one inside. THey did get the screen right however, so at least I have it and can use it. It just has to stay plugged in until they try (again) to send me a new battery.
I have a programming project that I have put off until now and have to finish it tonight, so I'm off to work on that. gotta love homework.

What happened?
What the heck happened to the weekend? They always seem to go too fast. I think all weekends should be 3 days, and then just work 4 10 hour days. I guess then I'd probably be complaining about my 4 work days being too short though. The month of november has 3 long weekends for me, so I'll just continue to look forward to that ;-)
Actually, after looking at my calendar its 2 weeks from right now that I have a 4 day weekend, and then a 3-day weekend the following week. And then one normal week then and a one-day work week for Thanksgiving.
You gotta love the Holidays :-)

Loss for words
I'm at a loss for words today. I don't have anything to talk about. There's nothing exciting in the news, nothing exciting at work and nothing exciting at home.
On that note, I think I need to go find something exciting to do.

Lots of Updates
If you are reading this, be sure to run windows update on your computer tonight. Microsoft issued 10 new security patches today, including several they rated critical. That usually means a worm will be released soon exploiting the security hole.
Can you believe superman (Christopher Reeve) died yesterday? Thats crazy. I was impressed with the fight he put up against becoming a quadraplegic and how he was a spokesman to promote stem cell research. Thats too bad.
One more thing. Its been here for a while, but in case anybody has their computer in their bedroom and would like to wake up with their winamp mp3's, I have a program I wrote that you can download here. I use it every morning still, have for a couple years now.

No Change
As you can probably see, there is still no noticable change to this site. I really am working on it, just trying to figure out how to get around a few things to get it like I want it to be.
Today will seem like a short week at work. I'm in training all day today, tomorrow and Friday, so I only have 2 real days of work. I have a feeling the three training days are going to be B-O-R-I-N-G too. Especially today will be bad, sitting through 8 hours of training and then 2 hours of class.
Anyway, hope everyone had a good weekend, mind was nice and relaxing.
Happy Monday.

Well I made it back from Chicago. Now I have to go back to work tomorrow....booo.
Anywho...Sara and I had a great weekend. Check out where we ate last night http://www.signatureroom.com/ (this was in celebration of our four year anniversary).
How about them Boilers???? Ranked #5 now. How about that. This weekend should be a good game against the Badgers.
Later.

Weekend almost over
Well another weekend is coming to a close. I actually got quite a bit done. Nothing exciting however. As you can probably tell if you're reading this, things still haven't really changed. I did upgrade to version 3.1 of this software though. I think that will enable me to merge the pages like I was wanting to. I did make some changes to www.pipesnetwork.com yesterday, so that does a few things now I want to have here. I'm gonna try later tonight to get this merged, but if it still looks the same, then just be patient ;-)

Friday
Awwww shooot. Its Friday! Another weekend is here. No big plans for me, I plan on hopefully updating this site a little bit, watching Purdue tomorrow, and thats about it.
If you've ever been to jibjab, they put up a new cartoon this morning (i heard about it on the radio). Its not as good as the first one, but still pretty funny. You should check it out.
Have a good weekend!

Howard Stern, Internet Monitoring
I found out last night that Howard Stern has signed a deal with Sirius Satellite Radio. That means that whenever it actually starts, I'll be able to listen to his show uncensored. Now I can't say that I'm a huge fan, but I do think it will be interesting to hear. Entertaining to say the least.
On another note, after reading an article on NWfusion here I'm starting to feel sorry for my kids already, if I ever have any. Anybody who knows me, knows that those people sound like something I'd do.
Comments
I forgot to tell you this the other day...So I was internship searching and found one with the Golden State Warriors. One problem, think The Apprentice and call it The Intern. At the end you get a internship with the Warriors. Can you see me on tv AND working for the Warriors? :)
I was about ready to say..."You like Howard Stern??" That dude takes up a lot of good oxygen!

Best Buy Sucks
So I was looking forward to getting my laptop back today. I called them and they said "ya, its in. been here for a couple days." Well what the crap, thanks for calling me! Its only been 3 and a half weeks!
So I go in to pick it up, and find out they replaced the screen. I'm thinking "cool, should be better then". I get it home and turn it on, and they replaced the screen with the wrong kind. I had a high-resolution S-XGA screen and they replaced it with a cheap XGA screen! I was pissed! Not to mention that while it was away at service they finally sent me a replacement batter (for the second time) because the current battery wasn't holding a charge. Well they sent me the wrong damn battery too!
I was enraged at this point, so I ate really fast and drove back over to best buy with laptop and battery in hand. I was ready to go off on somebody. Luckily the guy that helped me was understanding and friendly, and let me vent a little. They agreed that things were not right and have to send it out AGAIN to get fixed. It took so long this time because they had to order parts, so I'm sure its not going to be fast this time either.
What a crock, still no laptop and its 23 days and counting... (not to mention it was away for 11 days 2 or 3 months ago)
(that better for you Sara?) ;-)
Lesson Learned
Note to self:
Do not leave both windows in my apartment open when it gets below 35 degrees.
I woke up and it was 60 in my apartment AWAY from the window. Thats cold even for me.

Volcano
In case anyone has been following the Mt. St. Helens activity, here is a cool link I stumbled upon when I was looking if it had erupted yet.
http://www.fs.fed.us/gpnf/volcanocams/msh/
I actually saw it when it wasn't steaming and happened to catch the steam coming out of it. (no, its not that slow at work, i just like to multi-task :-)
Surprise Surprise
Well surprise, surprise. I didn't get near what I wanted to done on my website this weekend. I blame mostly the fact that I spend all afternoon yesterday attempting to study. I say attempting because since I haven't had a test in about a year and a half, I apparently forgot how hard it is to focus on studying.
Regardless, I got a lot of unseen work done on my website. I converted all of the asp pages i had to php, and am ready to merge my blog with some other pages. Its just a matter of figuring out how to do that now.
I have my first grad school exam in a few hours, so I'm trying to study a little bit for that, but of course today I happen to actually be busy at work.
If anyone has any ideas of something for my website, please let me know. I struggle with the creative part, its the coding I like.
Happy Monday!

Purdue Football
Well it was nice to watch a purdue football game this afternoon. It was even better to see them kick Notre Dame's butt at Notre Dame for the first time since 1974.
It's been so nice out today. Another beautiful fall day. The weather has been so awesome lately it makes me wonder if we are going to have a nasty winter.
Well back to studying and stuff. I started making some subtle changes to my websites last night, so more are on the way.
Orton for Heisman!
Comments
I meet a girl tonight and her name was Season. Isn't that kind of a funny name? She is a friend of a friend that is engaged. Don't get any funny ideas.
Everyone needs to make a road trip to Evansville, and Purdue too. That would be AWESOME...
Later Y'all,
DUT
WHOOP WHOOP FOR PURDUE!!!! We're awesome!! Don't you just love fall...now I remember why this is my favorite season!! :)

Can you say Friday?
IT'S FRIDAY!
For the first time in a while I've actually been busy all day so far at work. Its amazing how much quicker the day goes when its like that.
Its another beautiful fall day out too, nice and cool and sunny. Hopefully its like this all weekend.
No plans for the weekend, looking forward to relaxing and studying for my first grad school exam. oh joy. But since I'll actually be home I will be able to FINALLY work on this site and hopefully make it look a little better. Back to work now...
Be safe, have a good weekend!
